Calico Patch Newsletter April-June 2008
Spring is in the air! And we have new things springing up here! The new Buck-a-Block has started. When we are done with all of the blocks, it will make a beautiful Christmas quilt. It’s not too late to start! Had your eye on a Bernina? On Saturday, April 12, we will be having our Tax Free Day! Purchase any machine on that day, and it will be sold to you Tax Free. Don’t miss our Bernina Stitch Café! We are going to start a series on Heirloom Sewing that you won’t want to miss. There is no fee for the class, just lots of fun! Our Block Swap has all of us smiling! There are 36 ladies involved and boy do we see some beautiful blocks swapped! We will be offering a Beginning Quilting Class again. On May 17th, we will be having a Dresden Plate class. This one will be great even for a beginner. The nice thing is it will be a lot faster than the old way! On May 31st, there will be a Beginning Paper Piecing Class . I am sure that you have all drooled at the beautiful patterns. Now you can learn to piece them too! Wednesday, June 11th, we will have a Redwork Girls class. This will be stitched by hand embroidery. It is a class for beginners also. Come in and try the Pineapple Foundation Piecing class. Learn how fun it is to foundation piece with Benartex Foundation by the Yard fabric! We are having a guest teacher, Carol Byers from Cincinnati. She is going to share an original pattern with us that is out of this world! The lazy days of Summer would not be complete, unless you went to Summer School! That’s right! For 3 months this summer we are going to have a Thangles Summer School in session. The Rising Stars quilt will be made from beautiful Civil War Reproduction Fabrics. More details inside! As you can see, we are busy little bees here at the Patch! Stop in! Your Quilting Friend, Vicki
